Cheap Used Cars in Nashville
I started this site a few months ago to talk about Nashville used cars. Cars aren’t my bread and butter, but I’m a used car buyer myself, so I thought it would be a useful topic to talk about.
I purchased my first used car in Nashville about five years ago. I spent a long time looking for a cheap used car in Nashville. At first it was very difficult, but I took my time to research and look around. First I started looking at used car lots. I check out places like CarMax and several car lots in the Rivergate area. If you do not know Nashville, Rivergate is a mall shopping area north-ish of Nashville, TN that has a lot of car lots that sale used cars.
I was in the market for a Toyota, Nissan or a Honda, since they are all quality cars. My time spent on a car lot was very unsuccessful. I test drove a few cars, but they all had high mileage and a price tag of around 5,000. This was my first car, so I didn’t have 5,000 to spend. I had 5,000 total saved up to buy a car, but I needed to save some of that for a tune up and paying for taxes and tags after I purchased the car.
So I started looking in the Tennessean classified for used cars for sale by owners in Nashville. I found some better deal this way, but it was a hassle driving to all the different placed around Nashville to look at the cars. At least at a car lot, you could look at several cars at one time. I was on a quest to find a cheap used car, so I was willing to invest the time to find a good deal on a car.
During this time I worked part time at Vanderbilt University and saw a Nashville used car advertising hanging up on a board in the employee area. There was an ad for a used Toyota Corolla for sale outside of Nashville for $1,500. This sound like a great price, so I went to check it out. The car was beautiful. It was a high mileage car at 160,000 mile, but had a great price and was in a good condition. So I really wanted to buy this car. I was able to negotiate the price down to $1,100, which was an amazing deal for this car.
So here I was with my cheap used car and I had plenty of money left to pay for everything associated with buying a car. I’ve now had this car for five years and it is running great. I am really glad I took the time to research and test a lot of different cars. I love Toyota now and plan to get another once I sale my used car and get a new used car.
I know I ranted a bit, but there is a reason for. I just wanted to point out that is possible to find cheap used cars in Nashville TN, but you just have to take your time. Do a lot of research and test drive a lot of cars. If you take your time, you can find a great deal on a Nashville used car.
